Cost Accountant

Our client, an ambitious manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Cost Accountant. You can base yourself in Dublin or Offaly, with WFH on a Friday. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing and improving cost accounting processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Location: Dublin or Offaly – Hybrid
Salary: €70K

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and processes
  • Full month end and year end reports
  • Prepare regular financial reports related to manufacturing costs, inventory, and expenses
  • Analyse cost variances and recommend corrective actions
  • Collaborate with production and operational teams to monitor and control costs
  • Conduct audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations
  • Provide detailed analysis and reports to senior management on cost performance
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Continuously seek ways to improve cost efficiency and financial performance


  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in full year end activities
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
