Temporary Auditor Opportunity (Hybrid) in Dublin 2

Osborne Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced Temporary Auditor to join a reputable organization in Dublin 2.

This role requires excellent communication abilities, and a car with a valid driving license for occasional onsite client visits.

If you have payroll experience, it will be a significant bonus.

This is a hybrid position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

Location: Dublin 2 (mostly hybrid or onsite)
Contract Type: Temporary (3 months)
Salary: €56,000 – €63,000, Depending on Experience
Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Role Overview: As a Temporary Auditor, you will be responsible for conducting audit and verification checks across a range of funded programs, ensuring that funds are utilized correctly and in compliance with conditions attached to the funding.

This role involves traveling to client sites and providing objective feedback to help improve record-keeping and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine verification and audit checks on funded organizations to ensure compliance.
  • Evaluate accounting systems to ensure transparent audit trails between expenditure returns and financial records.
  • Assess the eligibility of expenditures, monitor budgets, and evaluate performance outputs.
  • Maintain detailed audit working paper files and ensure adherence to internal quality assurance processes.
  • Conduct and assist with risk audits where specific funding issues are identified.
  • Prepare detailed reports including findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Maintain logs of ineligible expenditure and provide inputs for government department reports.
  • Contribute to team meetings, promoting shared learning and best practices.
  • Assist in developing and updating procedures, processes, checklists, and reporting templates.
  • Liaise regularly with management to identify patterns that inform program development.
  • Engage in performance management processes and continuous professional development.
  • Stay updated on key government requirements, legislative and regulatory standards, and best practices in governance.
  • Develop and deliver training materials to funded organizations and colleagues.
  • Assist in interpreting legislation, regulations, and eligibility issues, providing necessary clarifications.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Ability to work autonomously and ensure high levels of accuracy.
  • Proficient in MS Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Strong financial management experience and knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience in conducting in-depth financial reviews or audits is desirable.
  • Previous payroll experience is very desirable.
  • Experience with computerized accounting packages and meeting strict deadlines.



  • Professional recognized accounting qualification with external/internal audit experience.
  • Alternatively, candidates with a strong academic background and relevant auditing or forensic accounting experience will be considered.
  • Full driving license and provision of a car for business travel within Leinster and Eastern Sea Board.
