Osborne in partnership with a leading strategic research and education organisation are looking for an accomplished Senior Database Manager at Assistant Principal Officer grade to join their organisation at a pivotal time in their development.

This position is a 3-year fixed term contract and is responsible for the database administration and database development of the national student and graduate database (the SRS, Student Record System), the Graduate Outcomes Survey database and a planned staff database.

The Senior Database Manager is also expected to lead, with Statistics Unit Analysts, on the auditing of student data returned annually and regular communication with staff in higher education institutions is required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 8 qualification in computer science or related field
  • Proficiency in Oracle 19C, SQL, PL/SQL, Linux Red Hat, AWS, OBIEE, APEX.
  • Experience in stakeholder collaboration, project management, and problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of GDPR and database design preferable.
  • Understanding of data collection processes beneficial.

Terms of Post:

  • Salary scale: €75,822 to €94,491 (PPC).
  • Annual Leave: 30 working days.
  • Working Hours: 35 hours per week, flexible arrangements.
  • Location: Dublin with hybrid working policy.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be authorized to work in the State.
  • Various citizenship and visa categories considered.

  • Managing relational databases using, preferably, Oracle database technologies and using
  • SQL and PL/SQL code 
  • Managing data in business intelligence tools such as Oracle BI (OBIEE)
  • Dealing with providers of data regarding uploads of data and data quality
  • Experience with ORACLE APEX
  • Experience with RMAN backup and recovery and Oracle Critical Patch Updates
  • Experience with Amazon’s AWS EC2 cloud services
  • Experience with Linux Red Hat administration and shell scripting
