Osborne Executive Search is currently recruiting for a Credit Underwriter, on behalf of a prominent financial entity in Ireland.

As a Credit Underwriter, the successful candidate will undertake the crucial responsibility of evaluating and managing credit and transaction risks for both new and existing customers across the UK and Ireland.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently analyse and underwrite transactions across various asset types
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of customer creditworthiness, utilizing financial data, credit reports, and sector insights, including conducting customer visits when necessary.
  • Evaluate deal structures, including collaterals and asset values, to ascertain risk exposure.
  • Prepare meticulous credit applications for transactions exceeding personal authority.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales team to prequalify deals and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Maintain meticulous records, ensuring full compliance with all Risk Policies, and adhere rigorously to decision-making protocols outlined in the authority matrix
  • Oversee the maintenance of accurate credit files and facilitate novation and reschedule decisions as required.
  • Uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in all interactions and decisions.
  • Foster effective communication with internal stakeholders, particularly Sales, and external customers.
  • Ensure strict compliance with KYC and AML requirements, promptly reporting any issues as necessary.

Requirements:

  • A Level education, with tertiary qualifications preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in credit risk/lending within a leasing company or financial institution, with 2-5 years of experience for junior roles and 5+ years for senior roles.
  • Proven track record in personal underwriting authority for new business.
  • Proficient in interpreting financial statements and conducting comprehensive financial analysis.
  • Strong MS Office skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote capacity.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Capacity to work autonomously and accurately under pressure.
  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills.
