Business Development Specialist – Instrumentation & Consumables

At Osborne we are currently recruiting for a Business Development Specialist – Instrumentation & Consumables to join a leading manufacturing organisation that specialises in laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieving Regional Sales and Margin targets as set by the company.
  • Meeting KPI’s and maintaining appropriate customer related sales information
  • Service existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing and potential sales outlets and other trade factors
  • Sustains rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities
  • Develop sales across a portfolio of Instrumentation and Consumable agencies
  • Co-operate effectively with Internal Sales Team, Sales Specialists and engineering Team to maximise Client Engagement Activities
  • Monitors competition by gathering and relaying current marketplace information on pricing, products, delivery schedules and merchandising techniques
  • Contributes to the relationship management with the laboratory suppliers, developing business relationships and engaging with manufacturers in joint customer activities
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; participating in manufacturer’s training events; attending trade shows; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies as appropriate
  • Have a willingness to undertake appropriate amounts of travel both within and outside of Ireland. Recommends changes in product portfolio, service, and policy by evaluating results, new vendors and competitive developments.

Requirements:

  • Self-driven, results-orientated with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and business profilt
  • Practical experience of general laboratory techniques
  • Third level science degree is essential
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills
