Mortgage Lending Officer

Here at Osborne, we are delighted to be recruiting for a Mortgage Officer on behalf of a well established client in Waterford.
 

Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Head of Lending, the successful candidate will be required to:

  • Build and maintain relationships with applicants requiring SME funding & secured loan facilities.
  • Carry out detailed assessment of loan applications, assist borrowers to structureloan proposals, prepare clear and concise loan reports and make recommendations to the appropriate sanctioning authority.
  • Support other team members and provide advice and guidance on loan applications.

  • Participate in annual reviews of all SME and mortgage loan facilities.

  • Ensure accurate and timely updates to the Head of Lending, the Management Team and The Board of Directors on the progress and performance of SME and mortgage applications.

  • Ensure the highest standards of compliance with policies and procedures are achieved.

  • Ensure all documentation relating to the provision of facilities is completed and recorded on the appropriate IT system and available for audit purposes.

  • Ensure required cooperation with internal and external auditors.

    Knowledge & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role in a financial institution.

  • Strong business acumen with ability to interpret business financial statements and key drivers of results.

  • Proven record in managing credit quality and compliance with policies and procedures.

  • Experience of coaching and mentoring junior members of a team.

  • Have a proven track record in delivering results to achieve personal work goals and objectives.

  • Strong member focus and a proven commitment to service excellence.

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise and manage work load.

  • Strong negotiation skills with ability to identify key risk issues in negotiation of borrowing facilities and to deliver alternative solutions if required.

  • An ability to work on own initiative and interact as a part of a highly motivated team.

  • Well-developed leadership and networking skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing.

  • Exemplary governance and ethics.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

    Qualifications:

    Full QFA Qualification is essential.

Salary: Depending on experience: €36 – 40k
