Reporting to the HR Service Partner, the role holder will provide a broad range of HR support to the Clients Support Functions. This is a varied role providing best practice advice, guidance, and support across a range of activities including HR projects, employee relations, performance management, recruitment and on internal processes, policies, and procedures.
GUIDANCE AND AUTHORITY
The HR Generalist will report into the HR Service Partner and works collaboratively to support the HR Team and stakeholders. The post holder is expected to operate with considerable autonomy. The nature of matters referred upwards are those:
Where significant resistance is experienced in the development of good practice and implementation of policy.
Where decision will have a significant impact on the workload of others.
Breaches of Policies and Procedures.
Serious incidents. / Action by third parties.
Where significant resistance is experienced in the delivery of the Project and agreed processes.
Where decisions potentially impact on others in the Society.
SAR or other GDPR issue.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provide a comprehensive end to end recruitment process from approval to induction/onboarding. • Advise and assist hiring managers with the Renumerations and Compensation Committee process. • Participate on interview panels as required.
Administer and guideline managers on new employee onboarding.
Provide guidance to line managers on operational inductions.
Deliver induction training as required.
Escalate potential induction issues with HR Service Partner.
Conduct exit interviews, collate data for trends and recommend corrective actions.
Assists and support managers with the probation process.
Escalate probation issues to HR Service Partner and provide line management support to address. 5. Policies and procedures
Respond and advise on policy and procedure queries.
Update policies and procedures as required.
Disseminate new/ updated policies and procedures to Members, Managers and Employees as required.
Provide advice and guidance to Line Managers regarding employee relations issues.
Assist with disciplinary processes including investigating incidents, chairing meetings, issuing documentation, and compiling reports in line with policy and procedures.
Ensure potential claims are reported to the Society’s insurance provider in line with processes.
Update case trackers.
Advise line managers on long term sick leave cases and occupational health assessments processes as required.
Provide support/chair meetings for long term absence cases.
Escalate ER issues including potential dismissals to HR Service Partner.
Payroll and Benefits
Provide payroll administration support to include; reviewing instructions; providing support on all statutory leave that impacts payroll
Ensure all leave is tracked in the HR system and communicate with employee and line managers in this regard.
Review leaver documentation as required.
Highlight payroll issues to the HR Service Partner.
Provide support for the compensation and benefits processes.
PeopleHR System
Provide training assistance and guidance on functionality to Line Managers.
Run reports as required.
Updated data as required.
Renumerations and Compensation Committee (RemCom)
Provide advice, review, and follow up with line managers on applications in line with submission dates/
Provide follow up actions following RemCom decisions in conjunction with HR Service Partner
