We are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity to join an ever-expanding company and one that will afford you with career progression opportunities.
The successful candidate’s role will involve the following:
Responsible for the preparation of tenders.
Issue tender queries and prepare tender reports.
Ensure the tenders are submitted and processed on time, follow up on tenders and documents and record any feedback.
Assist in compiling the Technical Submission of inclusions, exclusions, clarifications and program of works.
Appraise tender documents and prepare estimates as necessary.
Provide effective commercial and contractual support to operations teams in accordance with procedures.
Liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors and internal team members in relation to pricing variations.
Quantify material, plant and labour requirements for relevant projects.
Negotiate prices with suppliers and sub-contractors.
Monitor project costs against budgets, identify problems / opportunities and recommend / implement changes where necessary.
Liaise with clients and consultants from initial enquiries through to final accounts.
Desired Criteria
Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a QS (Must be Construction based and Mechanical based).
Certificate or Diploma in Building Services, Quantity Surveying, Construction Studies or similar.
Experience working in an Estimation team in a Mechanical Engineering company.
