Job Title: Quality Shift Supervisor Job Type: Full Time Permanent Location: Callan, Co. Kilkenny Salary: 45-50k DOE
The Quality Shift Manager will report to the Senior Quality Manager. They are involved with the management of the Quality Assurance team and the Quality Control team. They will ensure that products are produced to the highest level of quality and compliant with the specification of both the customer and relevant bodies. They will play a supporting role in the development of employees and will be instrumental in the recruitment, selection and training of their team. Furthermore, they will have a complete understanding of the Health & Safety Act, Quality Systems and HACCP requirements and their implications to the company.
Accountabilities:
Leading, managing and developing the quality team to make the best use of resources and skills.
Identify training and development opportunities to continually grow and enhance the team knowledge.
Ensuring all aspects of production are carried out to exact quality specifications.
Supervise all technical and quality staff.
Liaise with customers on product specifications and complaints.
Ensure compliance with DAFM, BRC, Bord Bia and customer specifications continually review existing HACCP systems in line with legislative & customer requirements.
Ensure compliance with customer standards.
Assume responsibility for the training and supervision of process operatives in relation to quality systems and procedures.
Manage customer complaints, investigation and implementation of necessary corrective actions.
Monitor the various stages of production and ensure that quality checks are being carried out and compliance with the HACCP system.
Ensure internal audits are carried out and non-conformances rectified in identified time scales.
Keep up to date with food legislation and any changes which affect the company.
Responsible for supervising all checks deemed necessary to ensure that the quality and safety standards BRC, Bord Bia and customer requirements are met constantly and consistently.
Deputising in the absence of the Senior Quality Manager.
Skills and Experience:
Relevant Third level Qualification is essential.
2-3 years management experience in Quality within the food industry.
In depth knowledge of all relevant quality standards.
Strong communication skills with ability to deal with clients, suppliers as required.
Strong people leadership and interpersonal skills are essential.
