Here at Osborne we are excited to seek a Production Manager with strong FMCG expereince for our client, a leading Irish brand in the pet industry. Based in Naas, Co. Kildare, we are searching for a strong candidate to plan, lead direct, and monitor all production and maintenance activities to maximise the use of the organisation’s resources to deliver finished goods to customer demand and meet established production specifications.

The Ideal Candidate
Minimum 5 years’ experience leading team in a similar role/environment
Strong business knowledge in fast moving manufacturing business
Project Management experience essential
Proven track record in team development and management essential
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Manage by walk about and react decisively in quick moving situations Production Manager
Be a leader who can encourage others to take ownership and responsibility .
Lead team-based problem solving
Possess good ability to understand processes and variables
Possess basic engineering understanding and strong business acumen
Be self-motivated and adaptable to working various hours
Demonstrate experience in defining labour loading against production schedule and take responsibility for managing and improving same
Demonstrate hands on strategic ability to implement Lean Manufacturing principles
Demonstrate excellent problem-solving ability for mechanical and process type problems, with a demonstrated ability to get to root cause
Demonstrate strong communication skills (both verbal and written); effective presenting ability who is effective in communicating with all stakeholders
Enthusiastic, energetic, optimistic, can-do attitude is a must
Be experienced business numerate and financial skills
Be a team player and at the same time possess leadership skills
Motivate all direct teams and take responsibility for all operations
Ability to plan activities and projects using effective planning tools Note: As with all positions, due to the dynamic nature of Arrow Group business, key responsibilities will evolve and change over time. Some travel will be required
The Role:
Manage all aspects of the performance of the production facility maximizing efficiencies and labour utilisation
Generation of all production / management data and dealing with accordingly
Maintain constant adherence to all company, customer and legal requirements regarding Food safety and Quality assurance
Liaise with maintenance on any issues identified that need to be addressed, and escalate to Factory Manager if required
Chair the daily production meetings
Ensure production parameters are optimised to produce quality product to specification each time
Ensure all costs are monitored and controlled to ensure operation within budgets
Ensure Lean and continuous improvement applied in all processes
Manage attendance, timekeeping, overtime, annual leave, and monthly payroll
Conduct employee appraisals and probationary performance reviews as well as ongoing performance management
Deal with employee issues and disciplinary in conjunction with the Factory Manager / HR department
Energy and waste conservation / management
Offer suggestions / new initiatives to a changing / developing process, and define SOP’s and training matrix as required
Ensure handling and use of all ingredients / finished product targets a zero-wastage approach and reduces and write off risk to the business
