Our client, a leading retailer, are seeking a Head of Finance to lead their finance team. This person will manage the finance team to ensure it is appropriately structured, resourced, motivated, organised and developed to ensure reporting is timely, accurate and relevant and the team performs to its maximum potential. Responsibilities

  • Prepare Senior Team and Board reports on an ongoing basis commenting of monthly management accounts and business performance.
  • Build and maintain strong systems of internal financial controls and compliance to ensure accuracy in reporting and to protect the brands assets.
  • Support the negotiation, monitoring and ultimate collection of trade and commercial terms with brand partners.
  • Support evaluation, modelling, return calculation and decision making on all capital and marketing/digital investment, and assess ROI once delivered.
  • Support pricing, markdown and sell though management on goods for re-sale to maximise gross margins while adhering to sell through targets.
  • Manage treasury and cashflow including short and medium term cash flow forecasting balance with inventory intake management and forward order book commitments.
  • Develop, and maintain data models dashboards, and performance metrics/KPI’s to present actionable business insights.
  • Examine, interpret, and draw meaningful insights from, and report results of analytical initiatives to, stakeholders in leadership, eCommerce, marketing, merchandising consumer, and product teams
  • Establish best reporting system for website and e-commerce analytics. Ensuring the highest standard of accuracy & quality.

Requirements:

  • Qualified chartered or ACCA accountant with minimum 7 years PQE.
  • Business, IT or marketing degree with minimum 2.1 honours.
  • Track record of managing a finance team in an organisation/division with turnover in excess of €50m.
  • Strong commercial acumen with ability to lead business decision making using insights and analytics.
  • Experience in designing, building, and using dashboards and KPI’s to analyse business performance, highlight areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
