Hardware Engineer 
The Osborne Technical and Engineering team are recruiting for an experienced Hardware Engineer to join the Hardware Department of our client based in Kilmainham, Dublin (Dublin 8). The Hardware Department works to design and develop advanced Networking and Compute devices suitable for a variety of applications and environmental challenges. This role will involve working as part of the team to design products through the full product lifecycle from POC, design, engineering, certification and verification right through to product debug and dealing with complex customer requirements. The ideal candidate will be interested in new technologies and will be willing to advance themselves through continuous learning.

Due to the hands-on nature of this role there is a requirement for on-site working but there will be flexibility and hybrid days available at certain times or as per request.

Main Responsibilities:

  • High Speed Digital Circuit Design for:
    • X86 based designs
    • Embedded Systems
    • Network Devices
  • Analogue Electronics, Power Supply Design, Circuit Protection and EMC
  • Simulation and Verification of design
  • Schematic Capture Design and supporting PCB Layout
  • Design Verification Testing & Approval
  • Bill of Materials Compilation
  • Product Testing and Debug

Qualifications and knowledge required:

  • A Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or similar qualification
  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar role
  • An ability and willingness to work in a team.
  • Will have already designed several complex projects from concept to production.
  • Good organization and communication skills.

Experience with some of the following would be an advantage:

  • Cadence Allegro/OrCAD tool chain PCB or similar
  • Spice or other simulation tools
  • Project management and bug track tools such as JIRA
  • Some Linux knowledge
  • Network Switch and Routing
  • Design for Compliance
