QA Supervisor – Weekend Nights – Part-time

Here at Osborne, we are excited to be working with our client, a leading pet-based manufacturer, in seeking a Part-time QA Supervisor to join their team in Naas.
This person will assist with the delivery of safe products to meet customer specifications.

The Package:

  • €30-32K pro rata base
  • Hours: Saturday & Sunday 18:00 – 06:30 (24 hrs)

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum recognised Diploma in a Food related discipline and/or relevant work experience.
  • Ideally 1 year QA/QC experience in a Food Manufacturing environment.
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to work on one's own initiative.
  • Keen team player with good communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Aptitude for problem solving and informed decision making.

The Role:

  • Utilize experience, skills & training to manage any QA issues that may impact food safety, quality, and legality for all areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure implementation and maintenance of the Food Safety & Quality Management System for all areas of responsibility.
  • Supervise daily on-line QMS system checks and procedures conducted by the operations team.
  • Complete the QA Supervisor check-sheet on a daily basis.
  • Ensure completion and logging of all CCP and PC checks by operations and appropriately address any out-of-limits/parameters. Verify CCP/PC checks.
  • Perform microbiological sampling/booking and reserve bulk samples.
  • Monitor equipment calibration schedule.
  • Investigate customer complaints and provide feedback upon request.
  • Conduct shelf-life testing/nutritional testing sampling as scheduled.
  • Prepare, complete, and seal export loads as requested.
  • Report non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide on-the-floor personal hygiene training, QC skills training for operators, and relevant food safety & CCP/PC training for relevant operators as requested.
  • Monitor and maintain personal hygiene standards, including the correct wearing of PPE.
  • Monitor product date coding for compliance with prescribed shelf-life and customer-specific shelf life into depot.
  • Conduct internal audits as requested.
  • Ensure full product traceability is maintained at all stages of the process and support the team in all mass balance/traceability challenges conducted.
  • Support Quality Manager in closing out any non-conformances and escalate any concerns to the manager where food safety, quality, or legality concerns are not brought under control to your satisfaction.
  • Monitor quantity control and correct labeling for all areas of responsibility.
  • Attend all meetings as requested by the Quality Manager and engage positively and contribute to the same. Provide all requested information in preparation for such meetings to the Quality Manager.
  • Responsible for the completion and follow-up of all QA Supervisor records, including Non-Conformance Log, QA Supervisor Check Sheet, Foreign body/Fabrication Audits, GMP Audits, PPE/Personal Hygiene rules audits, Hygiene/Cleaning checks, Glass/Perspex audit & associated snag list, Internal verification of scales & thermometers, and Monthly CCP/PC Verification.
