The Osborne Tech and Engineering team are currently recruiting for an experienced Technical Project Manager to support the organisation in the delivery of a variety of refurbishment and new-build projects, together with an ongoing programme of building repair and maintenance. This is a varied and interesting role combining technical expertise and experience with excellent project and relationship management skills. The organisation has an extensive portfolio of properties distributed across the Dublin, Wicklow, Wexford and Kildare regions.

The Technical Project Manager will be professionally qualified in building surveying, architecture, engineering or a related discipline – with a minimum of ten years post qualification experience. S/he will have responsibility for:

  • Carrying out property inspections, advising on building defects and specifying appropriate solutions.
  • Assisting with the procurement and delivery of construction projects, including selection of contractors and forms of building contract.
  • Assisting with the selection and appointment of design teams.
  • Project managing a variety of construction projects on both modern and historic buildings.
  • Project managing a programme of residential property refurbishment.
  • Managing the preparation of planned maintenance programmes across the portfolio.
  • Advising on health and safety matters in connection with a varied property portfolio.
  • Advising on the environmental impact, energy efficiency and sustainability of proposed solutions.
  • Devising and deploying appropriate processes and systems to manage and report on an ongoing programme of work.
  • Oversight of cost, programme and quality, ensuring adherence to project constraints.

In addition to an understanding of, and empathy with, the organisational mission, the successful candidate’s skills will include:
 

  • A relevant professional qualification with at least 10 years’ relevant construction project management experience.
  • A deep knowledge of building construction methodologies and maintenance management.
  • Sound and demonstrable commercial experience and business acumen.
  • An interest in conservation, the built heritage and the application of sustainability principles to an existing portfolio.
  • A thorough knowledge of the planning and building regulatory environments.
  • Very strong, and well refined, relationship management skills.
  • Strong IT skills including AutoCAD, and excellent report writing skills
