Osborne Waterford is delighted to recruit for a fantastic opportunity for a Financial Accountant in a dynamic company in the heart of Waterford City. Our client is a multinational company with their European distributor based here in Waterford. The expanding Accounts Team is looking for a Financial Accountant
The successful candidate will:
Work closely with the Finance Manager & European Financial Controller, gaining excellent exposure in the running of the finance function.
Be a valued member of the Finance Team with responsibility for Month End, Quarter End and Year End Close process for various legal entities, including all general ledger postings throughout the month and month end, including government returns.
Assist with interim and year end audit, including preparing the year-end audit file, being point of contact with audit team and prep year end statutory reports.
Prepare and reconcile balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial statements and reports, reviewing for accuracy of all entries.
Responsible for accruals and prepayments.
Responsible for ensuring the successful day-to-day finance operations including employee expenses, cash management, monthly payroll.
Embrace and implement continuous improvement in business processes.
Provide functional advice and training to team members.
Assist in ad-hoc and project requirements
Support Dutch and French payroll, which is mostly outsourced.

We are looking for someone with the following skills:
Professional qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA
Good understanding of general ledger accounting
Proven computer literacy (Microsoft office)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and audit ready always
Excellent organizational, time management & admin skills required. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team SAP Experience
Experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable
Willingness to travel (international) and 2-3 trips on average per year if necessary
Strong commercial acumen and ability to understand financial performance & European VAT an advantage
Second European language desirable (German, French, Portuguese, Dutch)
BI Experience an advantage
Multinational experience and an understanding of US GAAP a plus
Salary & Benefits:
45 – 55k DOE
