Technical Sales Specialist

At Osborne we are currently recruiting for Service engineer to join a leading manufacturing and services team based out in Leinster/Kildare area.

We’re seeking a fast learner with strong technical skills, someone with presence who can support our customers in a compelling way. Learning is a way of life here so you must have a genuine interest in developing new skills and learning new technologies. It is essential that our engineers be approachable and professional. His or her efforts will help us extend our national reach and impact.
  • Our head office is based in Dublin 24. This is a field-based sales role, the territory is the island of Ireland. However, we provide the infrastructure that will allow the successful candidate to be based anywhere in the territory.
  • To act as a responsible representative and maintain at all times the best interest of the company, its employees, customers and suppliers.
  • To deliver technical support for a range of customers and / or a specific equipment range. This will entail travelling to sites on a country wide basis or even outside the country. In order to promote, sell and deliver technical services effectively, you will be expected to build up (in a reasonable time span) a complete understanding of the product range.
  • In addition to expanding your technical understanding of the instruments we support and supply, you must also become familiar with the applications those instruments are used. You are required to build up a bank of accurate information relating to the activities of our customer base and specific customer requirements on each site.
  • Generate sales opportunities where possible and commit to excellent customer service by building relationships.
  • Maintain accurate customer records within our CRM system.
  • Carrying out the service and support duties will require a planned and organised approach, which will allow you to make efficient use of your time.
  • Travel plans must be carefully organised in a systematic manner, with appointments arranged in advance in agreement with the service coordinator.
  • Responsible for planning calibrations and validations. 
  • Work with service coordinator to arrange site visits
  • Ensuring correct spare parts and appropriate calibration test equipment are ready for each site visit.
  • Preparing quotes for service proposals and repairs.
  • Maintaining and updating our company database and service database with new customers and service jobs and all relevant information updated to the Prospect CRM.


Skills Needed:

  • Suitable third level education in an engineering or scientific discipline
  • Two Years’ experience as an instrumentation technician or two years’ experience as laboratory technician 
  • Suitable prior experience in a relevant field preferably in a gravimetric and or temperature arena.
  • Ability to travel within Ireland and abroad where necessary.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer experience including all of the Microsoft Office applications.
