Here at Osborne, we have an exciting new opportunity! We are currently hiring a Chemical Lab Manager on behalf of our client, a world-renowned food safety company based in Naas, Kildare.
The ideal candidate will be reporting to the Managing Director and will possess a chemistry related degree and food testing experience.
Package:
Salary €60,000+ DOE with various benefits
Onsite, Monday to Friday with flexible working hours
Hybrid working is negotiable after probation

Responsibilities:
To supervise the analysis of samples to enable results to be reported within a time period suitable to the client, with a target maximum turnaround time of two weeks for accredited tests, although specific customers will require this to be shorter
To inform the Customer Services Team, and/or customers as necessary, if deadlines are unlikely to be met
To inform the Technical Manager if resources, be they staffing or equipment, are inadequate to meet analysis demands
To ensure that all staff are properly trained to perform tasks given to them and to constantly monitor work quality and results obtained, instigating repeat determinations should there be any doubt about their validity.
To ensure that agreed quality and safety systems are continually adhered to by the Section such as check/repeat samples, recoveries, dating of reagents, logging of standards etc. and to review, revise or expand such systems as appropriate.
To assist in establishing, and monitoring, budgets for the Section incorporating salary review recommendations and cost control
To keep up to date with relevant legislation
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience within a laboratory or other related environment including management of audits. General knowledge of chemistry, food technology and/or other related science is necessary
The ideal candidate must have a minimum degree in microbiology, chemistry, food technology and/or other related science
Solid leadership and communication skills for creating interactive relationships with the teams, building plans and processes, setting deadlines and steering projects to completion
