Healthcare Assistant – Milltown, Dublin 14 – €12-€14

We have an excellent new opportunity for Healthcare assistants in a small Dublin 14 Nursing home.

Hours: Full time and Part time availability

Pay: €12-€16 per hour depending on experience


  • QQI Level 5 in Healthcare or equivalent
  • Experience working with elderly clients


  • To assist in the washing, feeding, dressing and toileting of the residents
  • To help with therapies and participate in activities e.g., recreational, social, nursing, spiritual and emotional as directed.
  • To act as an escort/helper to clinic, hospital, dental visits etc.,
  • To be familiar with safety, emergency and infection control procedures for their own safety and for the safety of all stake holders including colleagues, residents and visitors.
  • To maintain the highest quality of care and attention to the physical and emotional needs of the residents
  • To maintain confidentiality, relating to all matters concerning the residents and staff
  • To carry out cleaning and laundry duties as directed.
  • To attend training programmes as required including mandatory training as scheduled and to maintain and develop skills pertaining to their roles.
  • To maintain hygiene and safety in all areas
  • To maintain best practice in Infection Control.
  • To follow instruction from the Nurse Manager, her Deputy CNM1, the Nurse in Charge or the Nurse on duty.
  • To receive reports from Nursing Staff and to report observations on the well-being or needs and health and safety of each resident in a timely manner ensuring the well fare of each resident.
  • To maintain a high standard of work and appearance and to comply with uniform policy.
  • To ensure the procedures laid down in the Staff Handbook are followed.
  • To be familiar with all the operational and clinical policies pertaining to your role and to be familiar with the Safety Statement.
  • To work within the team, to communicate and collaborate with co-workers to ensure the highest quality care of residents.
  • To respond to communications regarding employee matters in a timely manner and as requested by management.
